Is he really 89? TikTok star credits these 3 things for looking decades younger

LONDON — An 89-year-old man who looks 20 years younger credits his youthful appearance to daily stretching exercises, yoga, and a strict skin care routine. Bachelor Robert Eddison is sharing the simple routines he believes are keeping him youthful and in shape up going into his 90s.

The London writer says he adheres to a simple exercise routine every single day that he started in his 30s after suffering from back problems.

“My back was so bad it skewed to the right. So, I decided to fix it, and I went to an osteopath who worked himself out of a job,” Eddison says, according to a statement from SWNS. “He recommended these two to four minutes of stretches before I get up and it was incredible.”

Since then, the 89-year-old has been coupling daily stretching exercises after waking up with a 30-minute yoga or swimming session. Robert also completes balancing exercises, such as standing on one leg for a few minutes as often as he can, which means he has never had to use a cane.

“If you use a stick you become dependent on it and you lose the ability to walk without one,” Eddison adds. “I aim to do my balance exercises every day.”

Robert has been sharing his daily routine on the social media app TikTok, where his videos have garnered 1.7 million views. People can see him performing his morning stretches including lifting his legs over his head and sit ups. People often don’t believe Robert is almost 90 years-old, with many accusing him of lying about his age.

“Every time I go out, people tell me I must be in my 70s or 60s. They even accuse me of lying to them,” Eddison says. “I find old men very boring. Most of my friends are in their 40s.”

Robert also credits his youthful looks to a strict skin care routine. He uses a day cream, which protects him from the Sun, a night cream and an anti-aging cream, which he puts under his eyes. He also pinches the skin on his face daily to prevent wrinkles.

Besides the daily exercises, Robert believes it is equally important thing to keep himself occupied. He still works at the age 89 and has high hopes for his writing.

“Healthy diet, regular exercise and positive thinking. I rate all three as equally important,” the 89-year-old says. “I have no time to die before 100 because I have a ten-year master plan, if you are living to do something you will live longer.”

  1. No, he does not look twenty years younger. Ten, maybe. Gray his hair and he would just be another old man. But staying active and agile helps a person like this man to carry oneself much as do younger people, giving an impression of relative youth.
