Psychiatric drugs are mainly used to oppressively control people in institutions. They are NOT used to help people. Psychiatry has mainly been about controlling people that others find inconvenient. People often feel “better”on antidepressants because it numbs people emotionally and dulls their perceptions about what is going on around them. Even if one is in a difficult situation or environment, if one feels depressed, it would be better to seek out positive people or activities, and to take better care of oneself, such as by eating healthy. Dissident psychiatrists such as Thomas Szasz(www dot szasz dot com) and Peter Breggin(www dot breggin dot com) have exposed the abuses and corruption inherent in psychiatry.
