Violife cream cheese is the best there is imo. No other brand mimics cream cheese half as much. I love Chao shreds, Miyokos has the cheese wheel which i think is divine; the chive one especially. The BEST cheese for melty macoroni and cheese that I have found are the shreds made by Whole Foods (365 brand). I buy the cheddar.
I’m surprised that Good Planet wasn’t recognized as one of the best vegan cheese on the market. It has no bitter aftertaste, melts well, great texture and taste exactly like dairy cheese. I’ve tasted all of the vegan cheeses you listed and the only one comes close is the new Babybel plant-based cheese.
This is not the “best” list. This is big brand list. Kite hill and Miyokos is great. The best vegan cheese I ever had was made from almonds, which is no longer sold at Wholefoods market. I’m sick and tired of seeing this processed crap being sold at such a high price. Coconut oil is not good for you and you should be getting your calcium from whole food plants for optimal human health.
The Follow Your Heart Pepper Jack cheese is fantastic.but really hard to find.Ican only find it on Amazon , but you hou have to buy it in huge amounts.
Nowhere in the article is the fat content of these dairy-free cheeses discussed. I haven’t yet found a tasty dairy-free cheese which isn’t loaded with fat. Nor have I found a recipe that is tasty and low in fat content
I am surprised Chao/Field Roast vegan cheese did not make the cut.

I fully agree and tofutti is hands down the best cream cheese
But it is high in fat content.
Love this reaserch material. It really helps for finding proper food replacement and source.
