Best Mother’s Day Gifts: Top 5 Mom-Worthy Presents Most Recommended By Experts

Mother’s Day is a special occasion to show your mom how much you care. Though they are more than deserving, unfortunately many of us are not able to give our moms luxurious spa days or an all-inclusive vacation. However, with a little effort, we can find thoughtful gifts for her, all while staying under budget! Whether you’re looking for something special or a heartfelt gesture, there are many great gifts for mom! The best Mother’s Day gifts are those that make her feel truly appreciated and loved without breaking the bank — and we set out to find the top present ideas!

When it comes to parenting, mothers wear many hats. According to a survey of 2,000 mothers raising school-aged children (ages five to 18), moms spend nearly 100 hours a week on parenting tasks — a job that would pay a whopping $100,460 per year if moms were paid for their work as parents. And that’s despite the fact that 70 percent of the mothers surveyed still work a full- or part-time job to boot. More than half of those surveyed (53 percent) reported sacrificing sleep for their children, while 47 percent regularly give up date nights, hobbies and time with friends. The survey also found that mothers often zero in on their children’s needs more than on their own. About three in five respondents (62 percent) say they often eat on the run, and 53 percent admit they struggle to eat nutritious foods because of the demands of their schedule.

It goes without saying, mothers should be appreciated every day and especially on Mother’s Day! Though mom will accept just about any gift so long as it comes with love, according to a recent study, the perfect gift may depend on what type of mom she is. The survey of over 2,000 adults revealed that 82 percent of moms expect a gift from their significant other and/or kids. Moms also revealed how their personalities might influence what they hope to get. “Foodie moms” (who love to eat, snack, and try new foods) would unsurprisingly be happiest with edible gifts (29%) but would also love a getaway or gift card/certificate (27%). In contrast, “soccer moms” (who are sporty and take their kids to sporting events and practices) are not shy about letting their families know what they want in advance (96%). They also prefer homemade (31%) or household gifts (29%). Meanwhile, “wine moms” (who love an occasional glass after a long day) also have a preference for heartfelt homemade gifts (35%) or ones they can munch on (27%).

Whether your mom is a “sporty mom” or a wine connoisseur, we can help you find the perfect gift for her! The Strategist says, “Eberjey’s Gisele pajamas have had the Strategist seal of approval for a while — Cup of Jo’s Joanna Goddard became a convert once she saw her friend wearing them while making eggs. ‘Eberjey makes the softest, most buttery [set] — which, unlike the cotton ones, never wrinkle,’ Goddard says.”

“Comfy enough for bedtime but way more stylish than an old T-shirt, these jersey pajamas from Eberjey are among the best we’ve tried,” adds Wirecutter. “Our staff tester reports that after two years of using them, these PJs remain stretchy yet soft and still look fresh, with just a little wear on the fabric. They come in many pretty colors, and you can choose a top with short or long sleeves and either shorts or pants.”

And if you truly want to give your mom a better night’s sleep, a sleep mask is key! There are so many cute and stylish options available, but the best brand is the Nodpod, per the experts! Glamour writes, “Give the new mom in your life the gift of better sleep by introducing her to this weighted eye mask, which will help shut out ambient light and can even be popped into the freezer for a cooling sensation.”

4. Acupressure Mat or Yoga Mat

“If mom enjoys yoga, stretching, pilates or any other mat-based movement, upgrade her to the Manduka PRO Lite Yoga Mat. This is one of the best yoga mats thanks to its grippy surface and premium, non-toxic material,” says Tom’s Guide. “Manduka is a coveted brand in the yoga world, and for a good reason — the mats were designed by actual yoga instructors. Bonus points if you pair the new mat with credit to a yoga app or her favorite fitness studio.”

The Strategist writes, “‘The Manduka mat is indulgent — it’s grippy, soft, and breaks in very well,’ says yoga instructor Kyle Miller. So it’ll last through even the most intense hot-yoga sessions.”

Meant to stimulate pressure points on the body, the acupressure mat helps improve circulation and relaxation, while alleviating stress and tension in the body. Plus, the acupressure points on the mat can be used for quick self-massage sessions throughout the day. It’s a gift that keeps on giving, as your mom can use it for years to come.

The best brand of acupressure mat, per expert sources, is the ProsourceFit Acupressure Mat and Pillow Set. According to Glamour, “If she’s keen on trying acupuncture (or simply always achy) but not quite ready for an in-office visit, consider getting her this acupressure pillow that’s meant to have a similar soothing effect (and gets easier to walk or lie down on over time).”

“For the book-obsessed Mom who loves reading on-the-go, by the pool or really anywhere, consider gifting her an Amazon Kindle,” says New York Post.

Forbes writes, “Amazon’s ultra-thin Kindle Paperwhite e-reader is small enough to slip into a purse, making it easy for her to escape into a book whether she’s traveling or relaxing at home. The 16 GB device can hold thousands of titles, is waterproof and has a battery life of up to 10 weeks. Plus, it comes with three months of free access to Kindle Unlimited so she’ll never run out of content to explore.”

“The Kindle Paperwhite is our best all-around ebook reader for a reason,” adds CNET. “It features warm light settings, a longer battery life and is completely waterproof. For a better viewing experience, this edition of the Kindle Paperwhite sports a 6.8-inch display, perfect for a virtual book club.”

And with the vast selection of e-books available, your mother is sure to find something she loves. From bestsellers to classic literature, there’s something for everyone. Additionally, many libraries offer e-book lending services, so your mother can access even more books without having to leave the house. 2. Digital Picture Frame

Most moms are all about pictures — taking pictures, looking at pictures, plastering them on the walls. A digital picture frame is an excellent option to help free up space, while still keeping those sweet memories close by! With a digital picture frame, your mom can easily switch out photos as often as she likes, ensuring that she always has a fresh and updated display of cherished memories. Plus, many digital picture frames now come with additional features like WiFi connectivity, touchscreen controls, and even voice-activated assistants, making them even more convenient and user-friendly.

“The Aura Mason Luxe Frame has outstanding image quality and vibrant, realistic colors packed into the 9.7-inch frame,” explains Tom’s Guide. “It even supports video with sound, so you can get creative with the content you want mom to see. Intuitive touch bar controls make it super easy to operate, while the companion app syncs photos quickly from a smartphone gallery or Google Photos account.”

WIRED says, “They’re expensive, but they have high-quality screens that look more like authentic frames than computer screens. They’re also easy to set up with a straightforward app. WIRED reviewer Medea Giordano says her favorite model is the 10-inch Carver, which blends in well with her interior decor.”

“Even unsentimental types will cherish Aura’s digital photo frame, which lets them play carousels of their favorite memories. (It’s a perfect gift for mothers-in-law too.) Want bonus points? Load some photos before you send it off for a lovely surprise,” adds Glamour.

So if you’re looking for a gift that will truly make your mom’s day, consider giving her a digital picture frame this Mother’s Day. Not only will it show her how much you care, but it will also give her a beautiful and personalized way to enjoy her favorite family moments all year round.
