I couldn’t agree more. Fortaleza and ocho are the only ones worthy imo.

There are no sweetners, or additives in 1942. Don Julio, and Fortaleza are the best on the list.

Incorrect. If fact, Don Julio 1942 is heavily suspected by most experts to contain sweeteners and additives due to the flavor notes and profiles.

What and how were these selected? Adictivo should be on this list or are these all blanco?

All I am seeing in this tequila ratings article are clear, straight from the kettle rough tasting plata’s-blanco’s. Ugh!
Aged, 100% blue agave reposado’s are far superior to what you have listed.
Not to mention anejos which have the characteristics of any world class whiskeys.

It’s hard to beat Tequila Ocho.. it’s made the right way, no additives, clean and agave forward at a fair price.. it’s ok to like a Reposado or an Anejo, but an additive free Blanco Tequila is Tequila..

I don’t know what “expert “ made this list, but there is literally 2 bottles on here that any respectable tequila drinker would choose (Fortaleza and Tequila Ocho) the rest are absolute trash additive bombs.

I don’t agree with this article. 40% ABV is not “extra proof.” That is the standard for the United States. In Mexico it can be as low as 35%. Also, how are Don Julio and Casamigos recommended before Tequila Ocho? Fortaleza and Tequila Ocho are the only two Tequilas that should be on this list. Don Julio, Casamigos, and Herradura, although marketed as 100% agave Tequila’s, are actually manipulated with additives. For a list of additive, free tequilas that are made with fully mature Agaves check out the Tequila Matchmaker app. It’s free and would be very useful before writing your next article.

I think they used the two authentic good brands to lend credibility to their marketing push for the others. 🙄

I 100% agree with this. I was coming to say the exact same thing. Only Fortaleza and Ocho belong on this list

Fortaleza, tequila ocho and Herradura are the only 3 good tequila’s listed here.
The rest clearly paid to be put there.
