A survey asking 2,000 American women about how they’re staying positive and confident during the pandemic finds 51 percent admit wearing makeup and changing their looks up helps them to cope with current affairs. A new unsettling study is giving new meaning to the phrase “looks that kill.” Researchers from Aston University say that the overwhelming majority (more than nine in ten!) of currently in-use makeup products contain potentially life-threatening superbugs like E.coli and Staphylococci. Exposing one’s face or eyes to such contaminated cosmetics may result in serious skin infections or conjunctivitis. Furthermore, “beauty blenders,” or typically egg-shaped sponges used to apply makeup, were found to be among the most contaminated products, according to the study. Researchers also say that so many mascaras, lip gloss, and other beauty products are infected with superbugs because most users don’t take the time to clean their makeup goods at all. Also, it is very common for people to use these products well past their recommended expiration date. Amazon provides some wonderful products, but it is up to you to take care of them and yourself.

As if version one wasn’t amazing enough, Urban Decay stepped it up another notch with Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. Luckily, on Amazon Prime Day, the miniature version of this palette will be discounted, making for the perfect opportunity to try out a few of the shades yourself! “If you don’t own either palette though, I think the Naked 2 is a really wonderful and well-rounded palette with a good range of light to dark colors in a variety of finishes,” says From Head To Toe.
“On bare lids, I get about 5 hours of wear before they start to fade and crease. When worn over Urban Decay Primer Potion I got almost 11 hours of uncreased/unfaded wear! I don’t know that I’ve ever gotten such long wear out of an eyeshadow before. It’s interesting how just adding the primer so drastically changed the wear time. Best for anyone with dry lips, this reviewer’s lips are recurringly chapped. “It’s tricky to describe, but when I use the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, my lips feel like they’re holding onto rich moisture, as opposed to being trapped under a thin film of grease that most other lip products seem to create.
