The List: Best Boxing Gloves, According to Sports Experts

1. Venum Elite Boxing Gloves

T3 Magazine ranks Venum at number three and writes, “Venum is also another highly-rated brand. This glove comes with a few extra perks, including the mesh thermal regulator, which prevents hands from becoming overly sweaty during intense training sessions. As with the previous brands, there’s triple layer padding and reinforced palms, which make them great for training and sparring; however, reviewers mention other pairs may be better for heavy bag work.”

“The Elite Boxing Gloves from Venum have a higher price point than other gloves on this list, but you definitely get what you pay for in this case. These synthetic-leather gloves are handmade in Thailand,” says Gear Hungry. “The padded palm protects the hand when parrying and adds to the snug fit and feel. The wide range of colorways allows boxers to personalize their kit and help differentiate your gear from others.”

“Venum creates high-quality, comfortable gloves, including the Venum Elite Boxing Gloves. Although it is an MMA brand, these gloves are solid for heavy bag training because of the triple-density foam. These gloves are great for beginners and advanced users with their various features”, says MMA Whisperer

2. Hayabusa T3 Boxing Gloves

Boxing Gloves Reviews Hayabusa at number two and states: “Hayabusa T3 Boxing gloves are one of the best boxing gloves we recommend. The dual strap wrist support ensures that your wrists stay aligned & protected even when you throw bad punches. What really stands out is the inner fabric which feels smooth and keeps your hands cool and less sweaty. If you are in the market for a new pair of boxing gloves that will stand up to the test, the Hayabusa T3 is a great pair of gloves to get.”

“The Hayabusa T3 boxing gloves were designed to offer the most support, protection and comfort possible in a pair of gloves. Hayabusa’s world-renowned wrist support is on full display here, with a pair of interlocking straps designed to keep your wrist secure. Dense foam padding keeps your knuckles protected, and the microfiber thumb allows you to wipe away the sweat during training,” explains Sports Illustrated. “Inside the glove, a temperature-regulated lining is designed to keep your hands comfortable and cool, even through the most intense training sessions. The gloves come in 15 different colors and five sizes, so you can choose the best color and weight for your training goals and preferences.”

“An item that appears in all lists of best boxing gloves is the Hayabusa T3. They are a piece of art when it comes to design. The cleavage on the palm is as long as on some lace-up gloves, which increases breathability,” says Way Of Martial Arts. “Some people complain about their size and they are right. The 16 oz, which are normally my choice, are smaller than most gloves of the same weight in the market. This doesn’t make them worse. It’s just something to keep in mind when buying a pair. The shock absorption system is a high-density 5-layer foam, which makes them more compact and efficient. However, they might be uncomfortable in intense training sessions.”

3. Venum Challenger 2.0 Boxing Glove

The MMA Guru ranks thid pair at number one. “These Venum Challenger 2.0 Boxing Gloves are designed for beginners and even advanced Boxers and Muay Thai fighters. With about every single color-way under the sun, you’re sure to find a pair that you like. The sizes range from 10 ounces up to 16 ounces, so you’re sure to find the size that’s right for you. Don’t be scared away by the extensive break-in period that these gloves have, this just means that it takes some time for gloves to properly feel right on your hand.”

“Venum has a wide range of gloves and occupies two of the categories in our list. The Challenger 2.0 model is the best model because it offers all the essential features at a very reasonable price,” advises Sweet Science Of Fighting. “You get the design of their much more expensive gloves at a fraction of the price. The cost, of course, is in the quality of the materials. This does not mean they are deficient, just that the more expensive models will last longer and feel more comfortable. But as a first pair of gloves, the Venum Challenger 2.0 is a perfect choice.”

“The triple-density foam that Venum is known for protects tender hands that are new to punching bag training. The hook and loop closure lets you get the gloves on and off with ease, and the mesh venting in the palm keeps hands from getting sweaty during workouts. The attached thumb prevents sprains and breaks, which is great for newbies who are still dialing-in their form”, states Gear Hungry

4. Sanabul Essential Gel Boxing Gloves

The MMA Guru ranks these gloves at number two and adds, “The Sanabul Essential GEL is one of the most unique pair of boxing gloves on this list. They construct their gloves with gel infused foam which provides good protection for your hands and wrists. I personally have never used these gloves, but I have heard amazing reviews about them from people who are beginners (3-5 months of training time). I think these are the perfect gloves for beginners because they provide adequate protection and they are super affordable for any type of budget.”

“If comfort is what you’re after, the Gel Essential Glove from Sanabul is a great option. The gel-infused padding gives the glove an amazing amount of cushioning without minimizing impact. My shoulders were burning during long training sessions with a heavy bag, but my hands felt great. These were easily the cushiest boxing gloves I tested, but with that gel-infused padding, that was no surprise. What did surprise me was the impact it still provided, despite the softness of the glove,” writes a reviewer at Gear Hungry.

“The foam padding on these boxing gloves gets a gel upgrade, giving them extra softness while still providing shock absorption. They also have a mesh palm for airflow that keeps your hands cool as you get sweaty. Take your pick from a range of bright colors in the detailing”, certifies Verywell Fit.

5. Cleto Reyes Hook and Loop Boxing Gloves

Sweet Science Of Fighting adds that Cleto gloves are the best boxing gloves for sparring. “Our choice for the best sparring gloves falls to one of the original boxing brands, Cleto Reyes. The brand has made a name as being one of the best since the 1950s and never tarnished its reputation. Cleto Reyes is still handcrafted in Mexico from high-quality leather and has a classic design. In a classic boxing fashion, most of the padding is located on the knuckles.”

“Sparring requires extra attention to a boxing glove’s composition, as you’re not just thinking about your own safety but that of your training partner as well. I really like the quality sewn into these hook-and-loop gloves from Cleto Reyes, as the two-inch latex foam padding is more than enough to provide a suitable workout while still keeping everyone safe in the ring,” writes Gear Patrol. “Plus, an interior water-repellant lining helps ensure your sweat won’t dampen the padding over extended use. While the extended forearm coverage can be a little uncomfortable if not wrapped, if your boxing training involves a lot of sparring sessions, consider these as a must-own for your gym bag.”

“One of the top-tier boxing brands, according to Jones, these Cleto Reyes gloves offer a durable, high-quality shield for your hands. Made with leather on the outside and latex foam on the inside, you have the perfect combo for keeping your body safe as you throw jabs, crosses, uppercuts, and hooks”, concludes Verywell Fit
