As Americans, grilling feels like tradition, regardless of the weather, but especially as it starts to warm up. There’s just nothing quite like gathering around the patio or deck with friends and family to enjoy a nice cookout.

Speaking of grilling with family and friends, a recent survey found that nearly 80 percent of millennials think they’re better at grilling than their parents. The survey sought to understand the grilling preferences of various generations such as millennials, Gen-Z, and baby boomers. Of these groups, millennials are the most likely group to grow up watching their parents or guardians grill food. Nearly 70 percent of millennial respondents said they were accustomed to watching their folks head up the grill.

And although the warm weather might spark your initial desire to grill out, another recent survey found that Americans love to grill all year round with nearly 50 percent of respondents claiming to have even grilled outside during a snowstorm. That’s some serious commitment to grilling. The survey also sought to find the grilled foods that Americans prefer the most. Of the 2,000 respondents, 53 percent said that chicken was the grilled meat option they looked forward to the most with burgers and steak following close behind.

“This grill brush was a top performer in our tests. It has a thick, round handle that’s comfortable to use with one hand and three cylindrical columns of wire bristles that cover a lot of surface area and get around grill grates well,” explains Good Housekeeping.

This is no ordinary grill brush and scraper. Grillart went all out to provide grilling enthusiasts with a top-tier, versatile grill brush. “[The] Grill Art comes with two scraper blades for hard-to-remove deposits. One is a broader, flat-headed scraper with grooves at the edges for removing grease and burnt-on bits, and the other blade sports notches in various shapes to fit the contours of almost any grill grate,” adds Food and Wine.

The grill brush and scrapers from Grillart make it easy to clean your grill. Likewise, you won’t have to spend a lot of money. “No matter what the grill had endured from cooking, with two motions the grates were shiny like new. This triple head design comes with a non-slip handle and the two scrapers included keeps even the smallest crevice clean as [a] whistle. As for cleaning, a quick dip in soap water and a spray down and all the food bits are gone. Just under $20, this brush is as good as it gets,” writes Food Network.

2. Kona Safe/Clean Grill Brush

In recent years, we’ve heard a lot about the dangers of using a wire grill brush. Kona sought to produce a grill brush that’s both safe and effective. The result is the Kona Safe/Clean Grill Brush.

“One of the main concerns people [have] about wire grill brushes is that if a bristle comes loose, it could end up in your food. The Kona Barbecue Grill Brush solves that problem with its unique design, which features three rows of rigid coiled wires,” explains The Spruce Eats.

The absence of wire bristles makes this an attractive option for homeowners who need a safe way to clean their grill. And, the best part is it’s built for those tough cleaning jobs. “And while there are nylon bristle alternatives out there, at really hot temperatures, the nylon bristles will melt. The Kona Safe grill brush is stainless steel and rust-resistant, making it one of the best grill brushes on the market if you want to avoid bristles,” writes Smoked BBQ Source.

The Kona Safe/Clean Grill Brush won’t leave you embarrassed at your next cookout with friends and family. As one expert reviewer explains, the last thing you want is a grill bristle with your steak. “Nobody wants to bite into a nice, juicy burger… only to pull a grill-brush bristle out of their mouth. Instead of bristles, the Kona Safe Clean Grill Brush has three layers of stainless steel to get the job done,” adds Delish.

3. Weber 3-Sided Grill Brush

Sliding into the third spot on our list is the Weber 3-Sided Grill Brush. The Weber 3-Sided Grill Brush appeared on a whopping 80 percent of the lists we referenced and even took the top spot on one of them. Known for making high-quality yet affordable grills, this Weber 3-Sided Grill Brush is no exception.

“Weber are known for making some of the world’s best charcoal grills, so it stands to reason that they know what they’re doing with grill brushes and accessories,” writes The Online Grill.

Weber’s 3-Sided Grill Brush comes in various lengths to meet your needs. The shortest length available is 12 inches, which according to the experts, is long enough to keep you safe when cleaning your grill. “Weber is a trusted brand when it comes to grilling. This brush cleaned really well and the strong bristles looked brand new after many uses. The handle is on the shorter side compared to most but the sturdy bristles whisk away stuck on food bites in a breeze. No need to worry about burning your hands and arms,” writes Food Network.

The Weber 3-Sided Grill Brush is also available in a longer, 21-inch model at nearly the same cost. Experts agree, when you combine value with quality, you have one of the best grill brush options currently available on the market. “Between the wide-angle side of the brush head that allows for cleaning larger parts of the grate, the corner bristles for detail cleaning, the longer handle for avoiding heat, and the relatively low cost, the Weber wins our Best Value category,” writes Food and Wine.

4. Kona 360° Grill Brush

Yes, another Kona product is making an appearance on the list of the best grill brushes. This time, it’s the Kona 360° Grill Brush. The Kona 360° appeared on half of the lists we referenced and was a popular option for many reasons. Similar to the Weber 3-Sided, the Kona 360° is designed to thoroughly clean your grill grates.

“This three-brushes-in-one brush exerts extra force while you use it, cleaning not only the top surface but also the spaces between grates. It’s a quick, efficient, and inexpensive tool that can be used on porcelain, ceramic, infrared, and traditional grill grates,” writes Simply Recipes.

The ability to work on different grill grate materials makes this a versatile grill brush. Kona makes quality grilling products with your safety in mind, and the experts agree that this brush meets those standards. “This brush is a full 18 inches long to keep your hands away from the grill surface, and the plastic handle is comfortable to grip, even if you need to use two hands. The bristles are made from stainless steel, so they won’t rust or corrode, and the brush is designed so the bristles are less likely to come loose and stick to your grates where they could end up in your food,” explains The Spruce Eats.

The Kona 360° is clearly a versatile yet safe grill brush. Kona kept it simple and focused on producing a grill brush capable of getting your grill fully clean. “The Kona 360 Clean Grill Brush is a no-fail tool to get your grill squeaky clean. It’s 18-inch handle protects your hands from burns and also features a textured grip for a firm hold. Made of stainless steel, the heavy duty bristles can deal with the toughest of messes,” raves Delish.

5. Grillaholics Pro Brass Grill Brush

Rounding out the list of the best grill brush is the Grillaholics Pro Brass Grill Brush. This grill brush lives up to the Grillaholics brand name. This product appeared on nearly half of the lists we referenced and for good reason, too. The long handle and wide cleaning surface combine with the brass bristles to make one of the best grill brushes you can buy. Still, this was designed for certain types of grill grates.

“A porcelain-enameled grill grate combines the heat retention of cast iron with the non-stick properties of a stainless steel material to give your grill great performance. However, scratching or chipping that coating can ruin all of that. That’s why the Grillaholic’s brass bristles are perfect for cleaning materials that can scratch or chip,” explains Angry BBQ.

The last thing you want to do is ruin your porcelain-enameled grill grate. Grillaholics Pro Brass Gill Brush is also available in the Grillaholics Essential line of grilling accessories. Regardless of which you choose, you’ll find that brass bristles are highly effective at cleaning your grill grates. “Stainless brass is both heavy-duty and not prone to shedding bristles, meaning this brush can be used regularly without fear. Since it’s made from brass and not stainless steel, this grill brush is safe for every kind of grill, including delicate porcelain and ceramic grates,” adds Simply Recipes.

The Grillaholics Pro Brass Grill Brush also features a wooden handle and plenty of bristles. The design of this grill brush makes it highly effective at cleaning those harder-to-reach areas on your grill grates. “It also has plenty of bristles around the edges to reach the grill’s more difficult parts. Unlike most designs, the wooden handle encompasses most of the length of the brush, allowing two-handed cleaning if desired,” writes Food and Wine.
