The shampoo is made up of purple pigments that counteract your hair’s yellow undertones,” according to Don’t Waste Your Money.

Today points out, “the formula has salicylic acid which she said can also help remove unwanted pigment.” While Stylecraze calls it the ‘best color-depositing formula’ adding, its pigments “strengthen each of your hair strands from the core and remove brassiness to maintain cool-toned blonde hair.”

Good Housekeeping calls it the ‘best purple shampoo for dry hair’, adding it “contains sea buckthorn, an ingredient that offers a range of haircare benefits. While some purple shampoos can dry out hair, this star ingredient is known to nourish, strengthen, repair and protect strands.”

“The formula also utilizes a bond repair technology to improve strength and reduce breakage, while mango butter leaves hair immediately soft and shiny,” notes Byrdie. However, some reviewers did point out the shampoo’s strong scent, which could be overpowering for some users.

4. John Frieda Violet Crush For Blondes Purple Shampoo

This purple shampoo from John Frieda claims you’ll see results after just one wash. Reviewers also note it works well on gray hair. Marie Claire points out it’s a “really, really good shampoo at a really affordable price.”

Today points out, it’s “formulated with nourishing and deeply hydrating ingredients like banana, spirulina, violet extracts and sunflower seed oil.” 

Harper’s BAZAAR adds, “this shampoo from the fan-fave sunscreen brand helps protect against UV oxidation and dullness. Plus, it’s vegan and sulfate-free.” Well+Good notes, the “banana and sunflower seed oil adds moisture and color protection.” This shampoo is also wallet-friendly.
