The powerful, widespread cooling design makes this fan ideal for all room sizes, including the living room, kitchen, office or bedroom.”
“A six-foot cord makes it easy to use, even in homes with limited power outlets, which is good considering this fan weighs more than others at 15.5 pounds,” points out USA Today. One drawback? You can’t take this fan apart to clean it.
2. Honeywell QuietSet Whole Room Tower Fan
The second tower fan on our list is also the quietest, according to reviewers. The HYF290B model costs under $100. You can also snag the more budget-friendly HYF260 version for around $60. Real Simple notes the HYF260 has different speed / sound settings including, “Sleep, Calm, White Noise, Refresh, and Power Cool. Additional features include oscillation, a programmable timer with automatic shut-off, and a remote control that clips onto the back of the fan.”
CNET is also impressed with the HYF290B adding, “the slim, rocket-shaped design is sturdy and relatively compact, the batteries-included remote control docks neatly in the back when not in use and the upward-angled controls on top are easy on the eyes. You can customize the brightness of those LED lights on top, too.”
3. Dyson Pure Cool TP01 Air Purifying Tower Fan
If you are looking to upgrade, this offering from Dyson pulls double duty as both a fan and an air purifier. However, it’s the most expensive on our list, coming in at $279.99. “Dyson’s TP01 fan features a bladeless construction, which pulls air in from the surrounding loop and multiplies its volume before expelling it outward,” notes PureWow.
“The TP01 has 10-speed levels that can be adjusted manually or with a remote control that magnetically attaches to the top of the unit,” adds Your Best Digs.
As for the air purification features? “It comes equipped with a 360-degree filtration system and Dyson’s Air Multiplier technology, allowing clean, purified air to circulate throughout the entire room (recommended for spaces up to 800 square feet),” according to HGTV. Reviewers also note the air filter is easy to put in and replace. The unit will let you know when it’s time to change it.
4. Dreo 42” Oscillating Fan With Remote
For $79.99, this fan’s bladeless design doesn’t skimp on strength. “While most tower fans suffer from a lack of power, the Dreo managed one of the highest speeds in our lineup. It has four different operating modes and can be easily controlled by an app on your phone that monitors how much time is left on your timer and can read the temperature of your room and adjust accordingly,” adds Tech Gear Lab.
“A common complaint about tower fans is that they beep when you change their settings which can be disruptive if your partner or kids are trying to sleep in the same room. If you want an affordable fan for a smaller space, this $69.99 offering from Pelonis is worth a look. “If you are looking for a fan that has a widespread oscillation, you should be satisfied with the 60° oscillation provided by the PELONIS’ fan. The strength of the unit is adequate, especially considering the price. It may not be suitable for large rooms, but it can do a decent job in small areas,” according to Gadget User.
“Its three modes include a calm sleep mode, an intense strong mode, and a middle-of-the-road natural mode. You can set these modes to run for up to 15 hours using the timer function,” adds This Old House.
