Best Celebrity Mullets: Top 20 Stars Who Sported Popular Hairdo, According To Fans

‘There’s a real mullet movement happening’ as the 1980s hairstyle is making a comeback

LONDON — It really is “business in the front, and a party in the back!” People with mullets have more fun than those who don’t — enjoying more nights out, spicier food, and a better wardrobe, a new survey reveals. The poll of 2,000 adults, 500 of whom sport a mullet, also answers the all-important question: Which celebrity wore it best?

Overall, the study finds that those with the unique haircut enjoy an average of five nights out a month. Meanwhile, the non-mullet crowd lag behind with an average of only three nights out.

Being a free spirit, somewhat mischievous, and “doing the unexpected” top a list of attributes those with the 80s inspired look believe they have. While those with more conventional cuts were less likely to think of themselves as a fashion follower, and only seven percent like to “make an impression” when they’re out in public.

“It’s no surprise to us that those with mullets are having more fun. There’s a real mullet movement happening as people get more experimental with their styles,” says an unnamed spokesperson for Foxy Bingo, which commissioned the research to launch its “mullet-only salon” in Newcastle, England.

The research also reveals that the mullet-sporting community are more likely to prefer spicy food, are less likely to settle down to a game of monopoly, and are twice as likely to suggest a saucy game of truth or dare. Those with mullets also describe themselves as more “influential” in their friend groups than those with more traditional trims (66% vs. 37%). They also socialize with colleagues a lot more than people with more conservative haircuts.

The List: Best celebrity mullets of all-time

The study also named Rod Stewart’s blow-dried masterpiece the best celebrity mullet of all time, narrowly edging out David Bowie’s red shock of locks as Ziggy Stardust. Bowie tied for second place with 80s icon Pat Sharpe, with “Roadhouse” star Patrick Swayze next in line, followed by footballer Chris Waddle.

Other beloved celebrity mullets include Michael Bolton, Hulk Hogan, and country singer Billy Ray Cyrus — father of pop titan Miley, who has also sported a similar look in the past. It also emerged that half of respondents rarely change their hairstyle, and 22 percent believe they’ve become more conservative with their hair with age.

However, 21 percent of those polled by OnePoll claim their hair defines their personality, and 22 percent think a change can make you feel like a whole different person.

“It seems there are even more benefits to having a mullet nowadays,” Foxy Bingo’s mysteriously unnamed spokesperson adds.

  1. I guess you have never heard of Jaromir Jagr…the KING of all mullets. Go home, amateur.

    1. yes, that is a good one.
      He wears his mullet well.
There are way to many wearing mullets that are just not mullet material

  2. The article is just one more example of frivolity on display. Were it not for the “press,” I suspect, there would not be nearly so much conscious and subconscious attempt to be noticed.
