Vegan dog food is a complete and balanced diet formulated specifically for dogs that excludes all animal products, including meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy. It is typically made with a combination of plant-based ingredients such as legumes (peas, lentils, beans), grains (rice, barley, oats), vegetables (potatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes), fruits (apples, blueberries), and healthy fats (flaxseed oil, coconut oil). With that in mind, we listed the top seven best vegan dog food brands.

It is important to note that not all vegan dog foods are created equal. You should choose a food that is nutritionally balanced and that meets all of your dog’s dietary needs. You should also consult with your veterinarian before switching your dog to a vegan diet, as they can help you choose a food that is appropriate for your dog specifically. Our sources helped us learn about the best vegan dog food brands to switch to for a heathy puppy based on the consensus of eight canine experts. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

I’ve been feeding my Beagles Natural Balance vegan food for almost two decades now. I’m surprised it wasn’t included in this list. My beagles have been very healthy and their vet checkups have always been excellent.
