The List: Best Fast Food Pies, According to Foodies

1. Jollibee’s Peach Mango Pie

Who would have thought that Jollibee would win the top spot? With a unique blend of fruit flavors, “I said it once in my Jollibee menu mega ranking, and I’ll repeat it here: this is the ultimate fast food pie. The pastry shell is ribbed with blisters from a bath in hot oil and is so crunchy that it shatters upon impact. The filling is sweet and tropical, a balance of peach and mango filling akin to heavenly-derived nectar. Everything about this pie is good, and no other fast food chain makes anything quite like it. Order it and thank me later,” says Thrillist.

“When it comes to fast food pies, there’s one pie that clearly deserves the top spot. The Peach Mango Pie from Jollibee isn’t just the best fast food pie; it’s one of the very best fast food desserts in all the land. In fact, if there’s ever a hall of fame for fast food desserts, the first two inductees should be Wendy’s Frosty and Jollibee’s Peach Mango Pie,” adds Mashed.

“These are fruits we usually don’t see in the American fast food dessert market, so we were really excited to try this treat. Unsurprisingly, it was delicious. The mango is certainly sweet, but it offers a tartness that balances out the sweetness of the peach. It’s all packaged in a thin but pleasant pastry that forms a pocket around the fruit,” describes TastingTable.

 2. Burger King’s Hershey Sundae Pie

Now, I know you all were probably expecting flaky crusts and pie fillings, but the Hershey’s Sundae Pie is such a fan favorite that it not only made the list but made the top. “With comparisons to childhood mugs of chocolate milk made from Hershey’s syrup, some of our tasters couldn’t help but think of their youth with this pie,” says Eat This, Not That.

“The first sign that this is going to be a great fast food pie is in the name. When it comes to chocolate, Hershey’s definitely knows a thing or two. This pie uses Hershey’s chocolate chips in its recipe, and the result is stupendous. From the chocolate crust to the chocolate filling and from the chocolate syrup to the whipped cream, the Hershey’s Sundae Pie is a delight. The next time you grab a Whopper, be sure to add this pie to your order,” reports Mashed.

“You wouldn’t expect the ultimate fast food pie to come in a little cardboard container, but it does. It has a chocolate crust filled with chocolate mousse and whipped cream and topped with chocolatey drizzle and chocolate chips. It wins the pie championships,” writes Sweety High.

3. Popeyes’ Cinnamon Apple Pie

Are you in the mood for something that tastes fresh out of Grandma’s oven? Popeyes may be the stop you need to make next time you are out. “The flaky, golden, buttery crust, the cinnamon on the outer shell, the freshness of the baked apple filling—there are so many reasons why the Popeyes pie reigned supreme—and it made many editors’ lists of the top three fast-food desserts, too. ‘I don’t like apple pie, and I love this,’ one editor said. She described it as ‘very soft,’ adding that it ‘melts in your mouth.’ Another editor said that if this had been a blind taste test, she would have thought this was a slice of fresh apple pie, not one from Popeyes,” comments Eat This, Not That.

The 236-calorie dessert comes covered in cinnamon, which is good if you love cinnamon, and the pie is buttery and crispy at the same time, and the filling is perfect,” notes Insider.

“A hand-held slice of crispy apple pie is basically a fall essential. We just might be inclined to ask for seconds. Popeye’s Cinnamon Apple Pie is slightly more expensive than the Taco Bell’s equivalent, but it’s a little bit closer to what you would expect from a traditional pie like this,” writes TimeOut.

4. McDonald’s Baked Apple Pie

Of course, the tried-and-true McDonald’s favorite was going to make the list. While it’s not as popular as the now-retired fried version (RIP), it still earned its spot on our list. “Yes, it was impressive to taste apples. Yes, the crust was pretty good. Yes, the price is right. What can we say? McDonald’s pretty much won the pie contest. We didn’t hate this one at all. And that says a lot, as far as fast food pies go,” explains MLive.

“Who knew that McDonald’s would become known for those small but delectable Baked Apple Pies? It was a stroke of genius to create a dessert that has such a strong sense of home. The serving is just enough, and it’s filled with 100 percent American-grown apples. Plus, it is always topped with a sprinkling of sugar. Make sure it’s warm when you get it—just like how grandma used to serve it,” says Delish.

“This one tastes baked, and it’s also the prettiest, with the latticework on top showing off the apple filling inside. We also loved the flavor of the filling—there are large, real apple chunks inside, and it’s chewy in the best way possible. The best apple pie also happens to be the cheapest,” adds Insider.

5. McDonald’s Strawberry & Creme Pie

While the Baked Apple Pie is the more popular and well-known choice of the two, McDonald’s managed to take another spot with this elusive sweet treat. “Everything about this fast food pie is wonderful. On the outside, you’ll find a crust that is coated with a liberal amount of sugar. The crust has a much better texture than the crust on their baked apple pie, and the addition of the sugar makes it that much more enjoyable,” comments Mashed.

“McDonald’s, home of the McFlurry and beloved Baked Apple Pie, but now there are even more dessert options. Their sweet and creamy Strawberry & Creme Pie is one fast-food dessert we didn’t even know existed,” writes Insider.

“If you want the best pie McDonald’s has to offer, go for the Strawberry & Creme Pie. Everything about this fast-food pie is wonderful. Beneath the crust is a strip of strawberries and a strip of vanilla cream. The strawberry filling tastes surprisingly fresh, while the vanilla cream is bursting with flavor. While you can eat the strips separately and split this dessert into two separate pies, it’s best to mix the strawberries and the vanilla cream together. The combination will cause your taste buds to jump for joy,” concludes Menus With Price.
